What are you making?
-
Digital courses
As a content lead and instructional designer, I design online and in-person learning experiences grounded in principles of adult learning. My objective is always to make the learning action-oriented and closely tied to the participants’ on-the-job needs.
-
Business content
Do you have the source material but no idea how to make it cohere? Do you have a wisp of an idea but no shape to it? This is where I come in.
I write content for a range of needs and lengths—from 3-word headlines for UX copy to blogs to feature articles. I work closely with clients to understand their ultimate objectives and constraints so that the writing lifts your concept into its sharpest form.
-
Workshops
I offer 2 interactive workshops that give participants fresh ideas about their creative process and concrete tactics for moving their most important work forward.
“How to Keep Going”
“5 Steps to Finish It”
Past partners include: Creative Mornings, Revel Eleven, University of Luxembourg, and Just Buffalo Literary Center.
Workshops can be customized to the needs of the group. Length: 1-2 hours. Remote or in-person.

Books
Your page isn’t blank—you’ve got the text, maybe a lot of of text. But it needs honing and possibly re-organizing. You need an editor.
I have two decades’ of editing experience. I began as an editorial assistant at a regional book publisher in Seattle. This laid my foundation in best-practices proofreading, copyediting, and editing manuscripts for publication.
My specialities include: copyediting art criticism for exhibition books and editing translated texts or texts by non-native English speakers.
-
Podcasts & radio
I specialize in writing for the ear—scripting content that people will listen to (as opposed to read). I’ve written for radio, podcasts, and event speeches.
I’ve produced audio content for arts audiences through public radio, art museum tours, and the Poetry Foundation.
What people are saying
"I was invited to give a speech at a 500-person gala event and wanted to make sure the language was just perfect for the event. Sarah helped me to get the language right and to have sentence constructions that were suitable for a speech. It worked out to my fullest satisfaction. Thank you so much Sarah!"
— Dr. Dieter Buchhart, Art curator
"I loved your post today on procrastination. It feels like you’re speaking just to me it’s so relevant."
— Finish It newsletter subscriber
"Writers, artists, academics, & anyone who’s ever been hard on yourself for not accomplishing that big project on sabbatical or summer break (or during a pandemic?), read this thoughtful, honest piece."
